And the reason for being is...

What are we here for? What is our purpose? What am I supposed to be doing?

We all ask these questions from time to time. Lately, I've found out. No I'm not the only person in the world to figure out some of the most daunting mysteries of all time. Or am I?

My friend, Missy, is having technical difficulties. She sent out an all call for help to post this blog. I answered. Why? Because she asked.

That's what we're here for. When we respond to the needs of others, we are answering the call of God in our lives. We are not here for our own pleasure (although that's a nice side effect) but for God's pleasure.

So what is my purpose then? To bring glory to God. I do that by allowing Him to work through me to meet other people's needs.

What am I supposed to be doing? Exactly what He asks of me. Usually through other people's requests.

Are you doing what He asks?

You never know what small little effort will change the world. Think about this for a moment, if there were no people asking for help, well...there'd be no people. If there were no people...what purpose would there be in the world?

I was in a philosophical mood today:-D

  1. You really hit home today.
    "Bringing glory to God."

Sometimes I look back at what I did 5 minutes ago and think "Yikes!!

  2. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I'm so glad you were there to hear my distress call, Angie!

What's interesting about your post, is that I'm the type person who finds it VERY difficult to ask for help. But in this case, I whipped out that email, and voila! My friends came to the rescue. My need gave Angie an opportunity to serve. God is so smart! :)

    Thanks again!
Missy--who finanlly has a phone and DSL after 4, count them 4! days.
