He will sustain you

A lot of things have been on my mind this week: the tragedy of losing a child; someone undergoing surgery to remove a tumor; remembering loved ones who’ve gone on to be with the Lord; financial worries; wondering about the desire for a particular career (is it the path God intends?); questioning if the voice inside is the Holy Spirit or my own, always interrupting the message He wants me to hear…

I went to bed last night wondering what to write today. I woke this morning and still didn’t have an answer.

Yesterday, a few of you shared good books to accompany a bible study. I admit I have not read any of those, but one thing I come back to is a free magazine from In Touch Ministries. I do not go to the Lord in prayer every morning. (That’s my selfish side creeping in, saying, “You need to do this instead…” And then I wonder why my life gets off track.) But on those mornings when I sit down with my bible first thing, this small magazine is beside me, just like it was this morning. The message is: “The Price of Prayerlessness”.

While Dr. Stanley’s message is succinct and always exactly what I needed to be reminded of, I won’t review it here. If anyone is interested, send me a note and I’ll gladly share it, but what I feel I need to pass on to you here is the scripture that accompanied his message.

I close with it, I pass it to you, and I pray wherever you are in your life that you will remember this scripture and trust in the Lord, always.

“Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.” Psalm 55:22

  1. Christy, you don't know how much I needed to hear that today. Thanks.

  2. Mindy, I'm pleased to hear you say that as well. Christy

  3. Hey, it worked! You got your picture to come up.

  4. Thanks for sharing, Christy.
