Yes, I'm drawing a blank. Today is my day to post and the well is dry. I could post about how Max deserves to be the next Danny Z. on Broadway, but if you haven't been watching Grease-You're the One That I Want the post would be boring and not make much sense.
So, I've decided to let the F.A.I.T.H. girls take over today. (And anyone else who wants to. The more the merrier!!)
What do you do when you have to write--a specific scene-a new ending-a new beginning- and you just can't think? Nothing!!!
Do you take a break? Do you start making note cards with scenes? Do you pray?
Ladies--help this poor blogger out today!!

Much thanks in advance.

  1. For some odd reason, I get my best inspirations when I'm doing the dishes. Maybe it's God's way of telling me I need to focus on housework a little more (blushing).

Everyone seems to have their own way of handling the "blank" problem. I tend to have all these great scenes in my head, but when it comes to connecting those scenes. . .that's when I draw a blank. First, okay maybe second, I usually pray. Make that beg. "God, pleeeeeeeze show me what I need to put here." LOL!

In the end, I do the same thing I always do. Just write. Start, hit delete, start again. The only way I'm going to overcome the fear that's preventing me from pushing through that "blank" is to just do it. So what if it comes out wrong or it doesn't fit there. At least I've tried and perhaps chased just enough rabbits to find the one that will work.

BTW, I'm on the American Idol kick this season. Oh, and don't forget, Dancing With The Stars starts tonight. I can't wait to see Billy Ray Cyrus.

Mindy, who's hoping she doesn't draw a blank for her post tomorrow :-)

  2. You're problem is that you need a vacation, Lindi! You've been going and going. I draw a blank when I'm exhausted, too. So, take a nap, take part of a day off. Have a weekend at home. I know, you're thinking, "Yeah, right. Like that's going to happen." But I bet it would help with the writing! :)

Hey, Mindy, my cousins went to high school with Billy Ray. I was born up there in Kentucky where he grew up. :) That's my claim to fame. LOL
