Sunday Check-In

It's Palm Sunday. The start of Holy Week. The last week of Lent. Next Sunday will be Easter. This is an important and meaningful week for Christians. I hope your week will be blessed.

Today is my birthday. I'm 32 years young. I've been writing for Christ for a year now. The blessings are overflowing!

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me!

AND it's also Check in Sunday for the F.A.I.T.H. Girls.

Okay, gals, what have you been up to?

  1. I'll start us off.

I'm rewriting my first 2 chapters. Don't ask. Just pray these stick.

My goal for this week: Finish these 2 chapters and GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!!!

  2. A semi-productive week for me. I wrote 30 new pages, but I ended up tossing 10 of them :-(
I did mega amounts of editing though.
Like you, Christy, I redid the first two chapters. I think these will stick. Famous last words, huh? LOL!
I even cleaned the house today. I guess that was my reward??

I hope you have a wonderful Birthday, and that this second year of writing will bring many good things into your life and that your work will serve God in the way that He sees fit.

  4. Happy birthday Christy!!!

And just what were you rewriting???
Inquiring minds like Lindi want to know.
I've been working on my newest book to get one chapter done. I emailed one of my Genesis entries.
    Working on two more!!
Out of town all week. Will be back next Sunday.
Have a meaningful Holy week and Easter Sunday.

  5. I have two weeks of checking in to report on. I finally finished chapter four of my WIP, but I need to type it in. I handwrote it while I was away from my computer. I sent off two entries to the TBL contest. I edited six chapters of a short historical and began a chapter-by-chapter outline for the first six chapters. I also wrote a short story that I plan to send off to an acquiring publisher.

My goals for this week are:
    1. Finish editing my short historical.
    2. Finish my chapter-by-chapter outline.
    3. Submit proposal to editor.
    4. Edit short story and submit to editor.
    5. Type in chapter four and begin writing chapter five of my WIP.

  6. There are some great goals ahead of us. Jenn will be a very busy lady. I'm so proud to hear Jenn and Lindi are doing multiple entries for contests - You girls Go, Go, Go!

Welcome to F.A.I.T.H. Katie! And thanks for the Happy B-day wish! I hope we'll see you again on our blog!

Mindy - I mopped. I guess your "cleaning house" inspired me. But seriously, we have to get into some kind of editing anonymous organization. At least you wrote 30 pages!

  7. Wow! You gals are amazing. So, I uh, rode a roller coaster or two:-D But, while at Disneyland last week, I met my goal. I wrote the synopsis for my TBL entry. I overnighted it and it made it to the contest coordinator. I hope I'm allowed to say how amazing and helpful Gina Welborn is! She was kind enough to email me when she found out about the horrendous saga I was going through in California trying to get my contest entry to her. She put my heart at ease out of complete human kindness.

Now, my goals this week are to add 5 more pages to my 2nd book so I can enter it into another category of the Genesis. I need to write the synopsis the week after and then enter. In addition, I'm taking one online class about plot and structure this month.

I just got back from a business trip, then a 5 day family vacation. I have 2 more business trips this month. Then I take my mom's ashes to Denver. I'm travelled out already. But, I am writing my 100 words a day from the Finish the Book loop challenge. I will take Sunday off this week to do our annual Easter Tea. We celebrate with a HUGE English style tea. So fun and loads of work.

    Angie
