What's your weather?

For as long as I can remember, and my mother and grandmother would attest to this, the weather is either cold or raining on Easter.

My mother and I believe it is because of Jesus' death on the cross and his resurrection that the weather changes so noticeably on these days.

Here in the South, we've enjoyed high temperatures in the 70s and 80s this week, but as of Thursday and today, our high will only be in the 50s and our lows are the 30s.

And it's Easter weekend.

My reason for giving you a weather report today, is to ask you what's the weather in your town? What's the forecast for Easter? Do you remember what it's been in years past? Do you think it has anything to do with Jesus' death and resurrection?

  1. It's chilly here in Texas. 50's today, 45 tomorrow. Ah, but for Easter morning, they're tossing in the possibility of snow. And to think, it was 89 the other day.

As for the weather vs. Easter, I don't notice the weather so much, but I do notice that on Good Friday it usually tends to be cloudy around the 3 o'clock hour. Perhaps God's reminder?

  2. Mindy, I think I'll have an eye on the sky today at 3pm. We'll see what's going on!

  3. 1:25 here. Cloudy skies now, after a partly cloudy start.

  4. I can actually remember some gorgeous Easter Sundays. Like Mindy said, it would be fitting to have a dreary day on Friday. But Sunday should be glorious!

This Sunday morning, I'll be pulling out my Handel's Messiah CD and blasting the Halellujah Chorus. My kids get serenaded while enjoying candy from their baskets for breakfast. :)

  5. Oops! I misspelled hallelujah! :)

  6. Friday was beautiful and sunny here in Charlotte, NC. The temperatures were much cooler than they've been lately. We took Celina and her friends to the park, played Track It ball, walked on the trails and they played on the playground. However, the night dipped below freezing and we had to turn on the heat again.

  7. Thanks for your weather reports!!

It was sunny in Georgia on Friday (even at 3pm) and last night my mom, who lives in the mountains, called to say they were having snow!

Easter it's supposed to be in the freezing temperatures.
