Pleasing unto HIm

Thanks everyone for a great contest week. We had fun and hope you did, too.

Summer is almost officially here. The weather is warm enough in Georgia for it to already be summer. It's pretty hot. But I love being outside and eating dinner on our screened in porch. It's a nice change from being cooped inside all winter.
I also like to see all God's handiwork. The greenest of greens, the burst of color on the flowers, the blue sky. It's amazing how He created all this to perfection.
Of course, He is perfection.
And while we can't be perfect, we can strive toward living a life to His glory. I've had a tough time changing from some of my old habits, but prayer, persistence and His love go a very long way in moving toward the goal.
Living for His glory.
I long for every day that I get closer.
Luke 3:21-22
When all the people were being baptized Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."

My prayer is that I hear those words one day. I want the Lord to be well pleased with me.

  2. I have that dream too, Lindi. I dream that the Lord will take me by the shoulders, turn me around, and say, "Well, done good and faithful servant." Then he'll show me the people who's lives I touched for Him. He'll show me that He was able to work through me even in all my failures and weaknesses.

PS I'm starting a "Real" Montana tour on my blog, lol. So many people asked, I'm going to begin posting photos of Montana regularly.

  4. Love this post, Lindi. I think it's an aspiration all Christians should have, though sadly, I'm not sure all do.

    Thanks for the compass point.

  5. Wendy, Ang, Christy and Mindy...thanks for the replies.
Wendy---are you sure you still don't have snow?
Ang--I'm heading to your blog for the tour--sounds like fun!
Christy--yes my cousin is great---and I'm sure we'd love to see pictures of Flowery Branch, Georgia. (PS-my cousin thinks we have weird names here for streets and towns--I'm sure she'll say something about Flowery Branch!)
Mindy--You know how you fixate on something then it seems every time you turn around it's in your face? The same thing is happening with this---I started reading a book by Andrew Murray and in the introduction it was talking about God being well pleased with us. Hmmm...

    Have a great week all!
