Faith Hope & Love Mini Conference

The wonderful Faith, Hope, and Love Chapter of the Romance Writer's of America celebrated our 10th anniversary today with a mini-conference in Dallas. (And the cake was/is scrumpdillyiscious. I get to say that "is" because afterward, the hotel delivered the remaining half of the gynormous cake to the room Mindy and I are sharing.)

An enormous thank you to our special teaching speakers. Sharon Mignerey taught today on putting your characters in the driver's seat. Valuable information. I could have listened to her for hours.

Then Debra Clopton spoke on developing your writer's voice by going deeper into your characters, especially the secondary characters. I think I struck gold with these speakers because I soaked up their words of wisdom.

Thank you to Mindy Obenhaus, Beth Shriver, & Leanna Ellis for putting together such a great mini-conference. Mindy acted as our MC. She did a terrific job with the Agent/Editor Panel. Our guests were Mary Sue Seymour (agent), Michelle Grajkowski (agent), Natasha Kern (agent), Krista Stroever (editor at Steeple Hill), and Cynthia DiTiberio (editor at Avon Inspire.) The panels was helpful, interesting, and fun. We are honored you all gave your time to us today:-D

Marta Perry gave a helpful Keynote Address about the growth and changes in the Inspirational Market. Thank you so much:-)

After a short free time break, four of the FAITH girls met up at the Literacy Signing. We have an upcoming interview scheduled on our blog with Deeanne Gist, author of The Measure of a Lady. So we took the opportunity to ask Deeanne to pose with us. She is a lovely and gracious lady. Left to Right (backrow) Angie, Lindi, Mindy, Missy. In front is Deeanne Gist.

This is just a quick update on the week at RWA Nationals. We hope you will come back tomorrow as we continue to offer a few moments at conference with us. Come on over to my blog for a few more conference experiences. I'll share my surprise and excitement over something that happened today:-D
