Coming Home and Gearing Up

I came home Sunday from ACFW and didn't stop all week.

Monday: we closed on a home refinance.

Tuesday: my dentist appointment and spending the better part of the afternoon at Nana's. Tuesday night: ACFW/WORD meeting - Downey tagged along and beat everyone in the arm with her doll. Thank goodness the doll is totally cloth and my WORD members love children!

Wednesday: Downey went to the doctor, thank the Lord her cold is an allergy. Then to Sam's and home for some house cleaning and laundry.

Thursday: wash clothes and pack for the Moonlight and Magnolia's conference that starts Friday. And, I watched my 19 month old nephew. And the dog went to the groomers. Thursday night: head to the hotel as that is a requirement to participate in the Pitch workshop on Friday, today.

Friday: Pitch workshop was very informative and I feel more comfortable facing my 10 minute editor appointment tomorrow. Wish I'd had this workshop BEFORE ACFW and it may have saved my blunders last weekend. Oh well, I'll let you know how tomorrow's pitch goes next week.

Right now, it's late. I decided not to stay the night at the hotel because I miss my family. My mind isn't as numb as it was after being at ACFW, but it was a good kind of numb. Today, I'm not exactly sure it's still Friday. It seems the last two weeks have been one single marathon.

I did blog about my ACFW experience on my personal blog. Here's the link to that article with some great pictures: http://christylashea.blogspot.com/2007/09/acfw-conference-dallas.html

I truly enjoyed ACFW. The conference I'm attending this weekend is on a much smaller scale. I miss the worship services that are at ACFW. There's a different feel at ACFW. The best part about the M&M conference is my local buddies are here - my two critique partners Christina and Dianna and of course, my dear FAITH sisters, Lindi and Missy.

Moonlight and Magnolias Conference is through my local RWA chapter. Isn't that a great name for a conference? Anna DeStefano lead my pitch workshop this morning and she's so motivational. Hmm. May have to invite her over to the FAITH blog for an interview one of these upcoming Fridays!

More about the M&M conference that next week... Till then, forgive this hurried and LATE post.

Have a blessed weekend!
