Some Days You Just Gotta Rant

You never know what life is going to throw at you. You wake up one morning, knowing full well it's your day to post on a particular blog. You contemplate what you're going to write about. You get the kiddos off to school. You settle in at the computer and BAM! You realize you can't get onto the web. But emails are still coming through. How can this be?

Welcome to my morning.

Yesterday I installed new security software on my computer. Today, no web access. So what do I do? I freak out. Then I decided I would call the internet security company. I pull out the little brochure to look for a number. Under the little heading that reads PHONE SUPPORT, it directs me to go a web address. HELLO! If I can't get on the web how am I supposed to do this?

Luckily, my husband works out of the house. So, I commandeered his computer and searched. And searched. And searched some more before I finally came up with some kind of phone number. These people do not want you to call them. Then, when you do, they want to charge over $2 a minute for that phone call. Well, since the problem is theirs, surely they'll wave that.

Two hours, three cups of tea, one uninstall, one install, one incompatible program removal later, I have web access. And no patience whatsoever!

This is why I am late in posting. I have no idea what I had intended to blog about earlier. It left me somewhere between the tenth and eleventh "I understand your concern, ma'am" s. So here I sit, frazzled, hoping I can salvage some sort of writing time out of this day. Maybe I need to work on a scene where my hero or heroine is frustrated. Hey, when you got lemons, you may as well make lemonade. Although, lemon pie is yummy too. Hmm.

Okay, I've got work to do.

  1. You poor thing! I hate when I have days blown by techinal difficulties.

Was this Norton that caused the problem? I used to love Internet Security until I tried to delete the thing. I believe they program in tenacles.

I hope you're up and running (safely and protected) again soon!

  2. Personally, I like Avira Anti Virus.

sorry you had a frustrating day. How can those people charge you to help you? But I've heard of it before!!!

I went to a pumpkin farm and Babyland General - home of the Cabbage Patch Kids. Fun day.

And I started a great book by a great author - Cindy Woodsmall's When the Morning Comes. It's awesome!

  3. None of the above :-) And I was able to get them to dismiss the charge for the phone call. Yea!
Now if I could only get my boys to stop fighting. Can you say grounded?
