Life Verses--For the Moment

Some people have a life verse. A verse from the Bible that maybe changed their life, or meant so much to them they go back to it in all circumstances.
Some people's "life" verses change from time to time. I have 3 "life" verses. Following is the current one:

John 6:67-68
Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?"
But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."

This conversation took place after Jesus had been speaking to the crowds in Capernaum. He had been talking about how He is the Bread of Life. The people turned from Him, saying the teachings were too hard. In John 6:61 it says that Jesus knew within Himself that His disciples complained about this.

I mentioned this verse in a post I wrote in August. It's still the verse I refer back to now. This might change tomorrow or next year. I'm not sure. In my experience life verses are something you don't usually seek out, they usually find you.
In your circumstances.
In your sorrows.
In your joys.
In your life.

This verse was very important to me this past weekend as I attended a ladies retreat. The presence of God was so strong-every issue I have been dealing with was addressed by a testimony, a teaching. It was incredible.
Well, of course it was-it was God.
Indescribable, unexplainable, incredible.
God.

I'd love to hear your "life" verse.

  4. My life verse is Romans 8:26-27. It came from a time when I was experiencing exhaustion from working 100 hours a week. I had no idea what I needed. These passage says that God knows what I need even when I can't speak it out loud or figure it out myself. His Holy Spirit will find it in my weakness.
