Imagine going for a routine eye exam. Now imagine the eye doctor telling you to have an MRI right away. Imagine learning, less than 24 hours later, that you have a malignant brain tumor.

This is exactly what happened to our sweet sister in Christ, Kristy Dykes. Yet for all my imagining, I can't imagine handling such devastating news with the grace that she has. I would be running around frantically, trying to find some way to fix it myself. Yet she has yielded her entire being to the Great Physician. What an awesome testimony.

I've been an avid reader of Kristy's blog since the news hit. She and her husband, Milton, have been so gracious to include us all in this journey. The love they share, for Christ and for each other, is an inspiration to all of us. If you have not been to Kristy's blog, I encourage you to take a look.

Lindi's post yesterday was entitled Powerful Prayer Today. Powerful prayer indeed. So powerful that it broke the equipment.

For those of you who may not have seen Lindi's last comment to yesterday's post, when Kristy went in for her first treatment--at 3:30 EST, when hundreds, maybe thousands, of people were praying for her--the technician came out and informed them that the machine had quit working.

How are we to interpret this? Is God going to heal her without any treatments? Or was it the enemy trying to delay possible life-saving treatments? I don't think we're supposed to know. We're just supposed to trust. Just like Kristy has been so faithfully doing.

I invite you, again, to follow Kristy's story. She's an incredible example of what a Godly woman should be.

  1. I'm looking at the picture on this blog, then go to Kristy's blog and look at her picture. Wow, she looks beautiful! I think the other day, her family posted that the doctor couldn't believe she was undergoing radiation therapy. In these pictures, she looks like she's glowing.

I think that's how you look when you put your faith in the Great Physician!

    She's certainly an inspiration!

  2. That she is. We should all look so good :-)

  3. Truly, Kristy and Milton's story is one of Amazing Faith and Amazing Grace! It will change your life! I encourage everyone to read their blog daily for encouragement and blessing beyond measure!
