Zooming Toward 2008

Well, Christmas is over and the end of the year is looming. I have to admit that hitting a new year always depresses me. I never wish the previous year away. I always feel sad to see it go. Maybe that's a good thing. That means I've had a great year. :)

I know the next few days will zoom by as I'm spending precious time with my parents, sister and her husband. And before I know it, we'll be sitting here watching the ball drop on TV. I love to be a hermit on New Year's Eve. I like sitting up late with a notebook and pen to jot down goals for the upcoming year. I look forward to that time and may be able to share some of those goals with you next week.

For now, I'll think fondly of 2007, the year I sold my first book. The year I got to hold my first "baby" in my hands. And also the year I got my first letter from a reader. What a thrill to hear he loved the book! And then to hear from another reader whose mother stayed up past 1 am to finish my book. It was the icing on the cake of a great year. :)

Thank you, Lord, for such a wonderful year! I pray each of you will have a happy, safe new year's holiday.

Also, I'd love to hear any of your goals for 2008, or to hear your new year's resolutions.
