Love Songs

It comes from many different places to each individual person. If you gathered a group of writers and asked each one where their inspiration came from, well you'd have a wide variety of answers. And the best part about it is that none of the answers would be wrong.
One source of inspiration for me comes from song lyrics. Okay, I confess that now I mostly listen to Christian music. Those who know me know I'm a huge David Crowder Band fan. I also love all the artists from Passion. Like Tomlin, Hall, Stanfill. I've also discovered a new artist.Phil Wickham. He's awesome. If you haven't bought his CD Cannons---do so immediatley.

I graduated high school in 1979. I didn't listen to Christian music back then. Did even know it existed to tell you the truth. So some of my fav lines are from the old stuff.
My top fav line is from Journey's song Faithfully.

"I get the joy of rediscovering you."
How much more romantic can you get? This guy is missing his girl, he's a star on the road travelling with the big rock band and when he gets home----he rediscovers his love. Sigh....

Another line I love is from the group Tonic. The song If You Could See The Way She Loves Me. The line:

"If you could see how blue her eyes can be when she says.....when she says she loves me."
Picture this. Blue-eyed beauty in love with her guy--batting those baby blues at him while she says "I love you." And he's eating it up then trying to explain it to his guy friends who are going hmmmm......this is why he's missing football games?

I could recite a few more but I think you get the picture.

What about you? Any romantic lines come into your mind? Or if song lyrics don't inspire you, tell us what does!!

  1. For me, inspiration can come from just about anywhere, including the evening news. Go figure. I find country music can be good inspiration. The songs usually tell a story, and often times my mind automatically takes that morsel and runs with it.

  2. I'm inspired by Christian music, too. I wrote a whole book based on Jaci Velasquez's song, I Will Rest In You. I listened to it over and over in the beginning or whenever I wanted to get the feel of the book again.

I'm also inspired by deadlines these days--publisher- and self-imposed!! :)

  3. Mindy and Missy,

Thanks for commenting. I know inspiration takes on many forms. I hope everyone can find their inspiration.
