What are YOU reading?

Okay, I'm doing a quick survey today! Here are your questions:

1. What book did you last finish reading?

2. What't the next book you plan to read? (Or if you're like me, what are the next 3 books in your To Be Read pile?)

3. What are you reading right now?

I really do need to take more time to read. I've been on such a push to finish my manuscript that I haven't read much at all lately. But here's my list:

1. The last book I finished was Cheryl Wyatt's A Soldier's Promise. It was such a great read!

2. Let me first say that my TBR pile, if stacked book on book, would probably reach the ceiling. No lie. So I'll give the top few in my pile. Camy Tang's Only Uni, Debby Giusti's MIA: Missing in Atlanta, Lynette Eason's Lethal Deception, Debra Clopton's Next Door Daddy, and Linda Goodnight's A Season for Grace. I also have an historical Teresa Medeiros book I ordered but can't find that title right now because it's buried in a pile. I also plan to buy Sandra Leesmith's children's book for my kids, God's Spirit Within Me. (She's writing as Sandy Wardman.) Then there are a gazillion more scattered around the house. :)

3. Right now I'm reading Julie Lessman's A Passion Most Pure. It's so good! I've used it some as my reward for when I get some good writing done. :) I also keep a book in the car all the time for moments of waiting (carpool line, doctor's office, etc.). The one in the car is Cheryl Wilson's second in her excellent trilogy, Lady of Light and Shadows (note: this is not Christian fiction and has some graphic scenes). I've also been reading Don't Look Down by Jenny Crusie and Bob Mayer, but it's overdue at the library and I have to take it back today! (note: also not Christian fiction.) I guess I'm just going to have to buy it, because I can't get through books quickly right now while writing. :)

So..... What are YOU reading?

  1. Hmm, you sound a lot like me. I struggle with finding time to read, too. And my TBR pile is huge. But here are my answers:

    1) The last book I finished reading was called Her Unlikely Family by this great new author Missy Tippens :-D Seriously. And I finished the thing in one sitting. I've never done that before. I loved it.

    2) Next I plan to read Colleen Coble's Abomination. Or maybe Susan May Warren's Reclaiming Nick. Or maybe Leanna Ellis's Elvis Takes a Backseat. Or maybe. . .well, you get the point.

    3) What am I reading now? Your post, silly :-)

  2. LOL! Yes, this was a plant to get you to say what you most recently read. ;)

    Thanks, Mindy. :)

I'd love to read Le's Elvis book, too. Love the title! And Colleen's books are always great. I haven't read Susan May Warren yet, but I've heard she's great, too.

  3. Thanks Missy, I'm honored you're planning to read my book, God's Spirit Within Me to your children. I think they'll like it.

I agree with you about having that stack of books. But there is always one that jumps out at me and I can't put it down. Your book, her Unlikely Family was one of those books. It really lifted my spirits. I'm looking forward to your next one.

I'm reading Julie Lessman's A Passion Most Pure now. Wow, great writing. I love historicals and a glad they're coming back. I recently read Only Uni by Camy Tang. That was great. I didn't realize Debby Guisti had another book out. I really like her books. I'll put Missing In Action on my list.

Thanks again Missy for a great post.

  6. Sandra, you're so nice to mention my book! I actually lucked into an early copy of Debby's new book. I got it from her at our last GRW meeting. It's a march release. It sounds really exciting!

Jenny and Christy, those books sound great! I love to hear what everyone is reading.
