Racing to The End

My daughter is having a huge swim meet today. I asked her if she's nervous. She shrugged and said, "A little bit. I just wanna have fun."

It's our human nature to get caught up in all the antics of life, and the expectations of others. Regardless of whether you're racing to the finish line or to The End, think about why you like what you do, and remember to stay focused on Jesus. Just enjoy it. Enjoy life!

"They shall not build and another inhabit; They shall not plant and another eat; For as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people, And My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands." (Isaiah 65:22)

  1. Jenn, I hope your daughter did well. I like her attitude. I just want to have fun, too.
But we do have to remember to have fun sometimes.
    Thanks for the reminder.

  2. Jenn, I hope she had a great time! There's a lot to be said for doing our best no matter how it turns out. We often tell our kids to just do their best and have fun. And they're always proud when they do. Even if they don't win.

Of course, they do have those Tippens genes which make them a "bit" competetive. ;) So sometimes that loss can be hard on them. That comes totally from their father, I assure you. (Ha!)

    Missy :)

  3. Thanks, you guys. She did great. It was the big meet with all the regional YMCA swim teams. We were there for about five hours. Those benches can get hard on the backside after all that time. She's ready to jump into the spring session. I think her times would have been a little better if she hadn't been out for two months with mono. This was only her third meet compared to the other kids. I'm just glad she had a great time.
