Time to Get Still

Life is crazy. We have so many things to do, places to go, people to see. Even when we're still, we're busy thinking about what we have to do in an hour, tomorrow, or next week. We plan, we think, we wonder. . .We are a flurry of activity.

Through all of this, God is waiting. He tells us to "be still and know. . ." Think about that. Here were are busy, busy, busy and NOT knowing, when all we have to do is "be still and know." Interesting, and easy, concept. So why don't we do it more often?

It takes a conscious effort. So many things vie for our attention. Yet we sometimes rush through our time with the One who is most deserving of it.

Find some time today to be still. Say "I'm here, Lord." Then let Him do the rest.

  1. I took that time to be still today by taking a nap! I knew I needed to rest.

Also, I had to share how God was watching over me today. While I was struggling on my crutches, He made sure there was someone to help me at every door I approached and every step along the way. It was amazing--a student walking up as I did to offer help, a security officer to open a door, a friend to help me out of one building who also went ahead of me to open another door (and to adjust my crutches!), a woman cleaning the building who opened one door, who then realized I would need another door opened so she waited for me. Over and over, someone offered a hand!

    Thank you, God.

  2. I know you needed to rest, Missy. And I'm glad you did:-) And I love the way all those people were being Jesus to you today.

  3. Missy, I'm glad you got the help you needed today.

And Mindy, thank you for the reminder to be still and let Him do the rest.

  4. Nice post Mindy. I believe we need to take the time to rest. Amen!
