If You Don't Have Anything Else. . . . .

You have Jesus.
This thought, this truth has been coming up so much lately in pretty much all aspects of my life. No matter what happens or doesn't happen we have Jesus.

My family and I started going to a new church in February. When I say new, I mean brand new. The church just started. The testimony as to how we came about going to this church is too long to post here and now, just let me say it was a total God happening. Totally. Without a doubt.

This church has revoluntionized the way I see church. What church is supposed to be. What our role in the Kingdom is. We are to first and foremost committ to God. All else will follow. As our pastor says "It's simple. Not easy, but simple."
How right he is.
There is nothing easy about totally following Jesus. Totally devoting your life to do His work, love His way, show all who He is. But I believe it is what we are called to do. Because, you see, it's the only truth that will never leave us. It's the only tangible thing we can say will always be with us. His love, His compassion, His mercy, His faithfulness. It's ours.

It's the One True Thing We Have.

Our spouses, our houses, our cars, our jobs, our pets, and everything else we can hold with our hands, in our hands can be gone in a second. But Jesus will never leave us. (Hey, that rhymes!)

It seems by some of the posts lately I'm not the only one struggling with what it truly means to follow Jesus. Put Him first. Give Him our best.

Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, or stories? I'd love to hear them.

  1. Lindi, I'm so excited about your new church! It's amazing when we get somewhere or get involved in something and can truly feel God's hand in it.

  2. Missy,
it is an exciting time. I know I'm where God wants me to be.

  3. Great inspiration, Lindy! God has been opening my eyes wider and wider to these truths over the past few months. Thanks for another reminder!
