Fun Day At City School!!!!

My son-in-law is a fireman. Last Friday he went to our granddaughter's city school to talk to her class. They LOVED 'Uncle Bobby'!!!!!!!!! We heard he was fabulous with the kids, (no surprise to us) and he let them all try on his stuff. Even his boots. He said the kids asked a lot of questions. One kid even asked him why the fire trucks are red.

So our question for the day. Do you remember when you were in school? Did someone like my son-in-law come to your class? What did you want to be when you grew up?

  1. No surprise here - I wanted to be a author! And no I don't remember an author coming to our class. We did have fireman, policemen, and a news reporter. The news reporter was my second choice.

  2. I wanted to be a shrink! through a Masters Degree and said, "Ok, I'm done with the school thing." LOL.

I don't remember having visitors like firemen, policemen, etc....But then again my memory is for the birds!

  3. Jennifer and Lynn,
I wanted to be a journalist. I don't remember having a fireman or policeman or anything come to our classes either, but like Lynn my memory....well....

  4. 1st-6th grade, I went to a private school for the university faculty kids. It was a "training" school (we were little guinea pigs--observation booths and all!). So we always had student teachers. We once had one of the basketball players who was our student teacher in PE. I remember him being SO tall (about 7 feet)!! And he was so fun. I loved him because I went to all the b-ball games with my dad and was a huge fan. I idolized him. :)

I've always been a little partial to a man in a uniform, too. Of coure, I was older then. ;)

  5. Such cute photos of Bobby and the kids!

I remember the fire truck coming to my kids' preschool. They thought that was the coolest thing ever.

  6. Hmmm Missy, a basketball player....
we never had a sports figure come that I can remember and yes, now that we're older there is something about a man in uniform...
