This and That

Can you believe it? Here we are, already a week into October. In just a few weeks, trick-or-treaters will be ringing doorbells everywhere. And can you believe Thanksgiving is only seven weeks away? Yeah, you know what's coming next. That means Christmas is less than twelve weeks away, a time frame that always seems shorter when you break it down into how many pay periods one has left.

It's always about this time of year I think, "Where did it all go?" And it's usually about this time things get so busy there's barely time to think.

I'm looking at my desk--my VERY messy desk. I've noticed that the more cluttered my desk is, the more chaotic things seem. Disorganized. Out of control. Yep, you guessed it. I'll be cleaning my desk today. No telling what I may unearth :-)

Are you a list person? Sometimes, like when I'm feeling organized, I am. Each check mark tells me I've actually accomplished something. I wonder how many buried lists I'll find?

I'm trying to plan next year's big family vacation. For someone who barely has a grasp on next week, let me tell you, it's a challenge. We're contemplating Alaska. That means we can't just pack up the car and go. Did you know that from Dallas-Ft. Worth it's a six hour plus plane ride to Alaska? Learn something new every day.

Again this season, I'm avidly following Dancing with the Stars. You watch? Who's your pick for a winner? Sad about Misty May Traner. I was hoping she'd win. Poor Cloris, she just needs to go home.

Okay, enough of my ramblings. What's on your mind today? Are you happy? content? angry? bored? Why? Have you had a good writing week? No? Come on, you're among friends. Let's share.

  1. Totally feeling discombobulated. I have writing things to get done, a life coaching course to sign up for, our heating company stuff to get done and my grandbaby's birth pending. LOL, Mindy, my desk is always a disaster, but I do work through my lists. This last weekend I made a list of which piles of paperwork to work through!

  2. Angie, I love it! A list for dealing with piles. :)

I'm such a piler. I got a great book years ago called "If I Could Just Get Organized! Home Management Hope for Pilers and Filers" by Karen Jogerst. What a fun book. And it helped me quit being so hard on myself.

For those who couldn't tell, that first photo was of Mindy after she jumped on the bed! LOL

  3. Yes, I was jumping--on Christy's bed :-) Note Missy checking to be sure she got the blackmail photo.

  4. Actually, I think I was holding my makeup bag and was putting on lipstick! :)

And I didn't even know it was me when I first looked at the photo. LOL

  5. Good Grief Missy, you didn't know it was you! Hilarious!

Mindy looks like she's about to pounce on something.

I like piles, Angie. I know where everything is.... most of the time.
