What in the world has Belinda done today? you ask as you open this blog page. What is up with this chick?

The photos were taken in Juneau Alaska this summer. I fell in love with that town. Absolutely in love. It was quaint. It was beautiful. It was not warm, but not cold. The scenery was incredible. There is no way into Juneau by road. You either have to come by plane or boat. I'm not too fond of planes, but I love boats.

When I arrived home I immediatley looked up the Juneau chamber of commerce. I've received literature for visiting the city. I would love to go back there for an extended stay someday.

So what you have under the photos is this weeks forcast for Juneau Alaska. (Do you think I"m terribly wierd yet? I hope not!) What I've been doing lately is checking out their weather to see what it's like in the winter. It's not too much colder than we in Atlanta are right now. I mean, their highs have been our lows. And it looks a bit rainy, doesn't it? Hmmm.. And overall Juneau's quite chilly. But I"m still a big fan. I can't say I'd love to live there in the winter, but I might try it for a season. Although no one would go with me and I wouldn't go by myself. Maybe RWA or ACFW will have a conference there one year. (Not!)

Our topic for today is this: What city fascinates you? Doesn't matter if you've been there or not. We all have some place in our minds or from the experience of being there that we love! Let us know where your place is.

  1. I really, really want to go back to NY City. I want to take my family this time and go see a couple of plays. I've been there for a couple of quick trips. One was RWA, and I didn't get out of the hotel enough. But I did go see The Lion King and fell in love. In the opening scene, I sobbed. It was amazing. And I want to take my kids to see it. I also want to see Wicked.

We saved up for a couple of years to go, but I got the teaching job and we had to cancel. So now I'm wanting to start saving again.

Oh, and I'm also dying to go see the Steeple Hill offices while there! :)

I've never been to Alaska and would love to go there, too!

  2. OH yeah. SEDONA, AZ all the way. It gets chilly in the winter, so maybe back down to Phoenix during that time, BUT OH, the red rocks of Sedona call out to me, often! They have trail running, trail riding, and nice shoulders to road bike on....

    I love that city!

  3. I can be packed in 15 minutes. I'd love to go to Juneau with you. We didn't have near enough time there this summer. Maybe we could hop over to Anchorage & visit with Sarah. And maybe this time we'd see a bear & a moose. Let me know what time our plane leaves.

  5. Missy,
I've never been to New York and it is a place I would love to go and visit. It seems very face paced and I wonder if I could keep up.

  6. Lynn, I had a chance to go to Sedona but couldn't make the trip. It sounds like a beautiful place and I've only ever heard great things about it.

  7. Mother,
Juneau is calling our names, I believe and Missy come along. Or anyone else who wants to come along. Maybe we could see a bear this time.

  8. I like Trondheim, my hometown, in Norway. Visit Norway sometimes! I believe Norwegians are very friendly. At least to tourists. In Trondheim today we have snow and the temperature is something like 0 degrees Celsius. Winter has come! And so it is nice to be inside. :-)

    INVITATION

    Invited hereby to my site
please be. You see I poems write
and knight like fight and youth alight.
This poem says it. Godly, right?

I want more readers. I want you
to come as if out from the blue
and tell me what I write is true
    and make my motivation new.

Why you? This is not spam, God’s dear.
I stand by what I do. I care.
Your senseless love to me I fear.
I mean it. I am good. Take care.
