Is it Friday already?

Oh My! It's my day to blog and of course my mind is as dry as a bone. Where has time gone?!! We have 13 days until Christmas. That's less than 2 weeks!! Just yesterday it was Thanksgiving - right??

It's just amazing how time flies by. I'm listening to a session by Dr. Charles Stanley. The title is Back to Basics. In that session, Stanley addresses our time and the stress is using our time wisely and how that pertains to serving the Lord.

I struggle in all areas. I have organization issues. I don't know where to begin in my life to get organized and then I'm afraid when I do become organized I won't follow through. I'm the queen of leaving things hanging.

So how do you do it? I know I'm not the only busy woman on this blog sphere. I'm not the only working mom trying to manage family, work, dream-fullfillment and church all in one week. I'd love to learn about what you do to stay on course with your goals to not feel so frustrated and lacking all the time. (Which is how I feel right now!)

  1. Wow Christy. What a topic for this time of the year. Can you say crazy?
I think I've said before I can't look too far into the future. I have to somehow make my plans, but them I only concentrate on today. Getting through what I have to do today.
I cant think about tomorrow or the party I have go to Sunday night...not today. Today I think about going to work, dinner with our friends...and that's it.
Tomorrow I'll think about whats going on then.
I know it sounds a little crazy and maybe selfish, but I can't handle too much anymore.
Like if I really think about your post saying there's less than two weeks until Christmas and knowing all I have to do I'll get panicky. So I'm not going to think about it, okay?

  2. You know what? I used to be way more organized before I began writing. Isn't that funny? Now, I get so lost in my writing I forget things.

Oh, yeah, I was supposed to do that. Or Oh, crud, lost track of the time, now I'm late. The list could go on.

But, one thing I am organized about is my blog. I sit on Sunday evening and plan out my six posts for the week and do them all right then and there. Then, the rest of the week, I can have fun visiting other blogs and focus on my day job and writing.

  3. I can vouch for Lindi doing this! She's said before, "I'm only thinking about today." Smart if you ask me! :)At least I hope it's smart, because I'm doing the same thing. LOL I have the calendar all filled out and have all needed items on my grocery list. But then I'm only facing one event at a time. Tonight--my son's overnight b-day party. Tomorrow, my college son comes home and I'm going to cook. (plus pick up band fundraiser fruit!). Sunday, handbells play at both services, then 2 Christmas parties that night...and on and on...
    I won't bore you! LOL

Lynn, you amaze me on your blog! That's a great idea! I'll have to try it sometime.

    Great post, Christy!

  4. Yes, Lynn,
I sit down on Sunday and barely get MOnday's done. Wow. Do you preplan before Sunday?

  5. I do a lot of blog preplanning too. I usually prepost my book reviews or blog tours. Then I can play with the other fun posts. Sometimes I'm on a roll and post a series of topics to publish at certain dates.

Also, I live out of a daytimer. I have to with all my family, work, volunteer and writing stuff.

And yes, sometimes it all goes out the window, lol. But the key is to work your habits most of the time so that when some of the time happens, it's not such a big deal to get back on track.
