What are you reading right now?

Missy here. I'm in the middle of judging the RITA contest right now. For those who don't know, it's a contest for published books and is sponsored by Romance Writers of America. So I got this wonderful package in the mail with 6 books to read. It's so nice to be able to read guilt-free. :)
Of course, I can't say what I'm reading for the contest. But I was wondering what our readers are reading. Would you share? And what do you think of it?
If you're not reading anything right now, then what's the best thing you've read lately?
One more thing, if you don't mind me asking so many questions! :) Are you in a reading group? I'd be interested in hearing how yours works.
Thanks!
Missy

  1. I'm reading "The Falcon and the Sparrow" by M.L. Tyndall. It's taking me all month, because I only get enough time to reach 2-3 pages a day, plus I'm dissecting it. If I could read on my job, I'd have it made.

And no I'm not in a reading club. I don't have time for it with all my writing clubs and critique groups.

  2. Besides re-reading my finished MS and making edits, I managed to find time for "Wind Dancer" by Jamie Carie. I had read the reviews for it on the PASTime blog and it perked my interest. It was a great read, but I was slightly disappointed in the rescue scene (the heroine needed rescuing from Indians). It seemed anti-climatic.

I also recently read Siri Mitchel's "Constant Heart." It was wonderful! She held my attention to the end.

  3. Jenn, I don't find much time to read, either. But I keep hearing other writers and editors say you have to keep reading! So I think I need to put it on my schedule.

Jody, thanks for the book recommendations.

I've been reading Camy Tang's Single Sashimi. It's been my in-the-car reading for a while now (carpool line, reading at doc appointments, etc.). But it's been such a great story that I remember exactly where I was each time I come back to it. And I'm just about to finish it--only a few pages left. So I brought it inside. I've gotta see what happens! :)
