Like, Totally!!

Belinda here!
Happy Monday. It looks like it's supposed to be another rainy one in Georgia. We braved the storms Friday night to go to a Good Friday service at the Verizon Ampitheater at Encore Park. The service was put on by The Passion City Church. Chris Tomlin and Matt Redmon are the worship leaders and Louie Giglio is the pastor. They meet one Sunday night a month in Atlanta. It's been an amazing addition to our already great church life we have. The Passion City Church is doing wonderful things for organizations all over the world. My friends and I have been talking about how incredible it is that they decided on Atlanta--where we can go every month. We are loving it!!

Don't you love it when that something extra happens? Something unexpected--something exciting. Something you are totally into. I know I do. Especially in my writing. I love it when I'm tooling along, characters are doing this and that, then wham! It's there. That totally unexpected aspect that fits perfectly into your story. It's not only thrilling, it's God. I firmly believe that. I believe when we give our stories to Him He gives us the tools we need to do the job. After all, they are His, not ours. They are for His glory, not ours.

Anybody mind sharing a story? Tell us about something totally unexpected yet you know it's totally God.....we'd love to hear them.

  1. I have one! Two years ago I started Carolina Christian Writers, a local ACFW chapter. In my mind, I had planned to get it off the ground and turn it over to another president after two years.

Well, we struggled and struggled and struggled. People seemed to always have so many other commitments--and rarely were their commitments part of attending CCW. The most we had attend a meeting was 8, but usually 3-4. This really discouraged me.

So when this year rolled around, I was disappointed that I couldn't get enough members to participate, much less hand off the chapter to someone else.

So I decided to close the chapter and put my time and effort into something more productive and where it might be more appreciated.

Two weeks later, my daugter was moved up to a higher level swim team. All her practices will now be on Saturdays when I usually have my CCW group meetings. I felt like it was a comfirmation that it was time for me to let it go. Even if I didn't hand it over to another leader and the group continue.

  2. Amazing timing, Jenn!

Lindi, I've seen perfect timing in so many ways. One was in selling my first book when I did. I don't think I would have been ready any earlier!

  3. Jenn,
God's timing was right on. Enjoy Celina's swimming. She's only this young once.
