Mother's Day Is Almost Here!

Don't forget this Sunday is Mother's Day! Mail those cards and gifts to your mother or other loved ones TODAY!!

Okay, now that I've made my public service announcement, I wanted to talk about old friends.

I've got a Facebook page and have really enjoyed it. I've found or been found by so many high school friends. It's been a blast catching up and seeing photos of them all grown up. Because if you're like me and moved away, then you tend to picture them looking just like they did nearly 30 years ago.

Oh my gosh. I graduated nearly 30 years ago! That's can't be true!! Please say it ain't so. :)

Recently, a friend from graduate school found me on Facebook. I had looked for her for years. I'd even emailed a couple of people with the same name, trying to find out if it was her. But no luck. Then all of a sudden, she found me. And we're having lunch today! I'm really excited to catch up with her. She's a chief at the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) now, and I'm so proud of her accomplishments! It'll be fun to talk shop again after so many years. Of course, it'll be a wonder if I even remember anything. :)

If you're out there, please be sure to find me on Facebook, My Space and Shoutlife! I'd love to be friends there as well as here. :) Have you found lost friends on Facebook or another social network?

  1. I was amazed at all the people I found from high school. It's been fun getting reaquainted. It's a good way to stay connected to family across the country as well.

  2. I like the way Facebook allows me to not only reconnect, but to interact with people from every aspect of life--writing friends, church friends, family, old classmates. It's such fun.

  3. I had such a great lunch with my friend today! We both think it's been about 20 years since we saw each other.

  4. That's great! Glad you had an enjoyable visit

  5. I really have enjoyed being on FaceBook. I have found several of the "girls" I went to church with, and one of the girls and I have contacted others through various means. We are now planning a reunion for all the "girls" (about 26 of us) who attended church together as teens. Some of these ladies I have not seen since we were teenagers, so I'm super excited! :)

  6. I love FaceBook. I've found so many high school friends, even with my Pen Name! LOL. I was known as Sheri Mathieu in high school, then married it's Sheri Boeyink, but all my web presence is Lynn Rush. Yet, I still found some and some found me. Crazy.

I'm so glad you connected with your friend. That's sweet!

  7. Edwina, that sounds so fun!!

The first thing I said when I saw my friend at the restaurant yesterday was, "Isn't Facebook great??!!"

  8. Well, Lynn, maybe we should call you Sheri-Lynn! :)

It's amazing that people have found you. But what's great about the friend aspect is that once someone finds you, others will see your photo on their list of friends. :)
