Checking In: How's your progress?

Christy here.

I've gotten a late start today. I hope everyone has enjoyed this Father's Day whether you were able to talk to or visit your father, spent the day with your husband and kids, or remembered many good times with your dad if he's already passed on.

Today is catch up day. Trying to catch up on laundry, get ready for the week ahead, iron, all the fun stuff I usually get to do on Saturday gets shoved into this one day. My hubby is at work, so my daughter and I are waiting for him to come home to celebrate his Father's day. My stepfather received his gift from me yesterday as he lives two hours away and my father has passed on. So this is how I'm spending Father's day this year.

Writing wise, I haven't accomplished much today. But this week at my writing retreat I mapped out a new route of my story and got at least two new scenes written. I hope to get a fresh start tomorrow. On my WIP, I'm working the middle. I've got the beginning perfect. The ending needs work but it's written. I'm on Chapter Six and have several to fill in to make up the bulk of the book and this story. So far my word count in all is a little over 28K and my goal is 60K.

So how are you doing today? Writing wise and family wise, we're interested for you to share!

  1. I hope the rest of your day went well!

My parents and sister came in town, and we spent the day talking and catching up. Then we grilled out. They'll be staying until Wednesday.

Writing wise, I finished my synopsis on Friday. Now I'm revising it!

  2. That's great on the synopsis, Missy!

Enjoy the rest of this week with your family.
