La, La, La, La Dancing

Christy here.

I couldn't wait to check my email this morning. You see, I'm in need of an Alpha Smart. The laptop is too heavy to take to work - and I know as I get closer to January, the laptop will not be an additional load I'll need. The laptop is good to take to work when I need to complete revisions, but I'm at a point that I need to produce.

My dear husband has heard my plea for an Alpha Smart for at least a year. I would go back and forth on whether I wanted one or not. Brand new they're more than $200. As I'm headed to ACFW this year, I need every dime I can spare for that. I decided I would settle for a used one, especially if I didn't like it I wouldn't have wasted the full price. (I can be wish-washy at times.)

I took matters into my own hands and searched Ebay under my husband's profile. He didn't allow this to go on for long, concerned I'd hook up with an inappropriate seller who wants to charge too much on shipping. Well, yesterday, my DH's search for me paid off.

I'm so excited and can't wait to get it. It's so light, I won't mind chunking it in my large Vera Bradley I'd purchased for the laptop and taking it with me to work or wherever. That's the key. It can go with me wherever. I'm tickled. I'm doing a dance and singing La, La, La, La, La....

What's been happening with you lately? Anything exciting that's made you do a La, La, La dance?

  1. You are too funny, Christy. I've been doing some dancing too. Mostly to the soundtrack of Enchanted and The Little Mermaid. My granddaughter has decided I'm her dance partner. Whenever we're watching a movie and they break into song, she seeks me out, grabs my hand, and says "Ance."

    Kids. You gotta love 'em.

  2. Congrats, Christy. I love my AlphaSmart. Keeps me off the Internet when I need to really get some work done.

  3. Hope you enjoy it, I got a new printer this week, bought my husband a new monitor and me some new ink cartridges and got home put the ink into my old printer and it would not pull the paper through, just jammed everytime, I paid almose $50.00 for 2 cartridges and then this darn thing would not work, had alread opened the ink so there was no taking it back, so after it really got on my nerves I went and bought a new printer, it is great, but still that money I lost on the ink cartridges just would not let me be. So yesterday I got the old printer back out and kept moving the wheels that pull the paper through and fixed the jams a few times and la la it started to work again, now I have 2 printers hooked onto my computer. Anyone need anything printed, LOL

  4. Congratulations, Christy, on winning the bid. I'll be interested in hearing how you like it. I've often pondered about whether one would be good for me. I hope you'll let us know how it works out for you.

  5. Christy, that's great news!! I know you'll love it!! I used to take mine to watch sports practices. I'd park where I could see, set my Alphasmart on the console between the seats, and type away (peeking at practice enough that I could carry on a conversation about it on the way home!!) :) (I know, I'm sooo bad!)

LOL, Edna. Congrats on the fixed printer!! I have a couple of packs of unused ink like that. It makes me so mad that I wasted that money! I wonder if we could sell them on Ebay? The thought just hit me for the first time!
