I Believe . . .

Mindy here.

Today's a chance for you, the reader, to sound off. Say whatever you want (within reason-keep it clean), just start it with the words "I believe."

Have fun.

  1. I believe my husband writes MORE on his fishing forums than I have in a whole year on my manuscript.

  2. I believe in God the Father almighty
Maker of Heaven and Maker of Earth
    And in Jesus Christ
His only begotten Son, our Lord
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
    Born of the virgin Mary
    Suffered under Pontius Pilate
He was crucified and dead and buried

    CHORUS:
And I believe what I believe
Is what makes me what I am
I did not make it, no it is making me
It is the very truth of God and not
    The invention of any man

I believe that He who suffered
    Was crucified, buried, and dead
    He descended into hell and
On the third day, rose again
    He ascended into Heaven where
He sits at God's mighty right hand
I believe that He's returning to
Judge the quick and the dead
    Of the sons of men

    CHORUS

I believe it, I believe it
    I believe it
I believe it, I believe it

I believe in God the Father almighty
Maker of Heaven and Maker of Earth
And in Jesus Christ His only begotten Son,
    Our Lord
I believe in the Holy Spirit
One Holy Church, the communion of Saints
    The forgiveness of sin
    I believe in the resurrection
I believe in a life that never ends

    CHORUS

    I believe it, I believe
    I believe it, I believe
I believe it, I believe it

  4. Lindi, how did you know that song was running through my head? Now you got it stuck.

  5. Me too, Lynn. Though I have to admit, it's hard sometimes.

  6. Lindi, I don't know that song, but I had the Apostle's Creed running through my head as I read Mindy's post!

    So ditto for me.

  7. That's another exercise we can use to "prime the pump" in our writing group. (I was "Anonymouse" in Belinda's Monday blog, because I couldn't figure out how to put in a name. Maybe I'll get it right this time. I am Alice, a friend of Lindi's)

"I believe...for every drop of rain that falls a flower grows..."
    Remember that old song?

I believe that God does not CAUSE tragedy but He certainly does USE tragedy to help us grow closer to Him. I believe God is the best lemonade maker of all! When life gives us lemons, He teaches us to make the sweetest, most thirst-quenching lemonade we've ever tasted.
