Reading/Writing Check In

Welcome to a new week bloggers!

Christy here...It's already August - where has the summer gone?

Most everyone I know is gearing up for back to school. The kiddies around here start back this week or next and the rest following there after.

I'm trying to write and meet a self-imposed deadline, extended two weeks since I didn't get as far as I wanted by August 1.

For today, I thought we could share what we're reading or writing, new goals - be it home, work or writing wise.

Here's my goal: I'd like to meet my self-imposed writing goal of 60,000 words by the next two weeks. I have 41,000 words down. That's 19,000 to go.

I'm reading Mohamed's Moon by Keith Clemmons. Wow. This is a great book. So vivid, I feel like I'm watching this unfold in the movies, or better still, I'm there.

And life wise, I'm celebrating my 15th week of being pregnant with baby #2. However, I fixed my decaf coffee too strong this morning and am feeling a bit woozy. Other than that, all is going well health wise and family wise.

For all of the above, I praise God. No complaints. Or none I want to boo-hoo about here. For the kinks to life, I'm still praising God and hope I'm following His will.

How about you? What are you reading, writing, or are thankful for?

  2. I'm behind on my current manuscript also. But am working at finishing by end of August...
I'm reading a couple of books right now...I've gotten to the point that I do this quite often. I'm reading Lonestar Courtship by Mae Nunn and Remembered by Tamara Alexander...One contemporary, one historical.

Thanks for this post. It's fun..and lay off the decaf coffee girl!!

  4. Hi Sarah Dawn! Glad you found us!
Sometimes, on those mountains, it's hard to see God with us but He is.

I've read both of those books. They're great. We're going go meet our goals for 60K - August or BUST!

  9. I'm about to start so many things...
    Mohammed's Moon for review
My new book 2 in the Gems of Wisdom series
and online classes from book 1, Insanity Rules: Gems of Wisdom.

In the meantime, I'm taking a life coaching master class and reading The Frugal Book Promoter in preparation for launching more promotion :-)

I'm thankful for the opportunities God has placed before me and pray that he'll lead me to the right ones and not just some good ones.
