Labor Day

Good Morning! Belinda here. It's Labor Day and I can't wait to labor!

It's true.

Okay, I confess, right now, free of deadlines and other such issues I don't find writing laborous. I find it fun, exciting and can't wait to get to it. So today I'm very excited that I get to write this morning. As long as I want bascially. I actually think I'm going to finish my wip and my reward for that is buying the new James Scott Bell book on revising. So I hope to be making a trip to the bookstore this afternoon.

How about you? I know some of you are probably working today. Let us know what you're doing on this Labor Day 2009! Hope you have fun doing whatever it is.

  1. My dear sister in law is taking my daughter to her house to play. I'm hoping to get some writing done this afternoon while she's away.

Work hard and finish the book Lindi!!

  2. I'd love to write today, but we're off to the first high school football game of the season--and it's at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium! Yeah, baby!

  3. Since I went to a writing contest earlier in the summer I've hit a roadblock with my writing. Attempts at writing are so tough right now so vegging with my family. Enjoy your day of writing.

  4. Sounds like a great day for all of you!

We're just staying home today. My daughter just took a shower and got out of pj's for the first time since her fever started Thursday night. (well, she's showered and changed pj's during that time, I should add!) :)

I'm playing catchup this weekend. I updated my website yesterday for the first time since like May. I caught up on all kinds of other paper work. Mailed off a blog prize that should have been mailed off a week ago. Sent out fund raiser pleas since I'm the neighborhood volunteer for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. And now I'm balancing my business checkbook--not a pretty sight!

I've also watched a couple of movies this weekend for fun.

So I think it's just a nice weekend to get organized and rest.

  5. Go for it Lindi and Christy! More power to you.

As for me, well, so far this morning I've written 1000 words, gone to pick up my son from a friends house, done laundry and cleaned the kitchen. This afternoon we're off to take the kids to the movies with some of their friends- destination: GI Joe. I hope to get another thousand words or so done tonight after everything has settled down.

  7. Sarah, I hit a road block about half-way through the manuscript. I picked up James Scott Bell's book on Plot and Structure and read the part regarding middles. It ignited an idea that got me going again. Good luck---you can finish!
