Scattered!

Missy here. I'm so tired. I got online this evening to do my blog posts for today. At 2 am, I signed off and prepared to go to bed.

But I had forgotten to do the blogs! My goodness. I'm so scattered it's not funny!

Have you ever walked in the bathroom to brush your teeth and totally forgotten why you were there? Or else you brushed your hair instead? Have you gone to put a load of clothes in the dryer, then got sidetracked scraping lint out of the lint catcher thingy and forgotten all about the clothes? (And they soured!)

It's easy to get scattered like that. Especially when we're so busy and pulled in so many directions. That's why we need prayer to help us feel centered. To be focused. I often pray that God will bless my writing time. I guess I need to start praying that He keeps me on task, especially when I'm writing blog posts! :)

Missy P.S. Don't forget my book, A Forever Christmas, is now available!! Woo hoo! (click on the book to read an excerpt at e-harlequin.com)

  1. The book cover is gorgeous! And yes, I have done all those things, lol. It's 2:17 a.m. right now in Montana. I just have so many things rolling in my head I couldn't stop. Now I am so tired and realizing the morning comes so early :-)

  2. Missy, I can SO relate. I'm the one who can hang up the phone with someone who's just told me they'll be right over, yet the doorbell rings and I'm like, "I wonder who that could be?" DUH!
But I've decided that I just have too many things rolling around my brain. My kids schedules, my husband's schedule, my schedule, not to mention at least a half a dozen characters, whose lives I either know or am trying to figure out everything about. Good grief. It's no wonder I'm a nut case!

  4. Mindy, I like that excuse! It's all my characters' fault. I'm not crazy after all. :)

I truly am the worst when I get online. I can get on to make a bank transfer, and two hours later sign off without having done it. That little email inbox is sooo distracting! :)

  5. I am getting to be really bad at forgetting I have to write everything down and then I will go into a room and turn around and around trying to figure out what I came in there for, so you are not alone, I think this goes alone with age, LOL

  8. Missy,

My husband always says that our "butt-minder" works quite well. We get up to do something, forget what it was we were going to do, and sit back down. As soon as we are seated, our "butt-minder" kicks in and we remember what we got up to do. (Hope no one is offended!) Think about it - it does happen that way!!

    Blessings,
    Edwina

  9. Oh, Edwina, that's SOOO true!!! LOL!! I love it. :)

Not only is it my butt-minder that does the trick. It also happens AFTER I'm snuggled under a blanket with my laptop turned on. THEN is when I remember. :)
