Sharing Some Fun with You :)

My daughter and I had some grand fun this week. We yearbooked ourselves at yearbookyourself.com. What a hoot! And one thing that was so fun for me was to see how we look a good bit alike! Well, aside from her young, supple skin and lack of wrinkles. :) Another thing that was fun was seeing what she might look like when she grows up! Actually, that was probably a bit scary as well. But overall, it was a riot. You should try it. :)
Another thing I wanted to share with you this week is a verse that God gave me today. I'm not the best at memorizing Scripture. I've tried at different times but have never had much success. I don't memorize words to music well either. It's like it's a mental block. So I was very thrilled today when I was outside on my deck praying, enjoying this glorious weather, when a part of a Bible verse came to me. I ran inside and looked it up on Biblegateway.com. I'd love to share the verse with you as well. No need for me to try to talk about what I think it means. God will speak to you as He sees fit.
Psalm 73: 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Okay, one thing I do have to say is that the part of the Scripture that came to me while praying was the word portion. God is my portion. What's a portion? It's just the right amount. It's just what I need. There may be lots of things I want...but God is all I need.
Do you have anything fun you'd like to share? Or a verse God has given you lately?

  1. Missy - thanks for a great post - especially the Bible verse. I needed that this morning. God has given me the same verse in 3 different translations over the last couple of weeks: Habbakuk 2:2 "write the vision and make it plain;" "Write may answer on a billboard, large and clear, so that anyone can read it at a glance and rust to tell the others" and "Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run."

Think God is trying to tell me something? :)

  3. I love the portion teaching. All too often we want far more than our true portion. I need to work on that!

  4. Eileen, years ago someone talked about that in a Bible study, and it has stuck with me, because the idea that He's exactly what I need touched me so much then.

I'm so thankful God reminded me of that yesterday.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  6. That is sooo cool of you and your daughter and I love that scripture God is my portion - just enough. Wow.
He reminds me daily that He surrounds me (us) with His love.
