Belinda Here--Good Monday!!

We had a great service at church yesterday. We talked about how we can't throw the baby out with the egg nog. That is, we can't box Jesus up with all the decorations and store him away until next year. Christmas isn't the end of anything, it's the beginning of everything.
The birth.
Of Him.
The King.

We read from the book of Colossians. We talked about how we need to clothe ourselves on a daily basis.

Colossians 3:12-15
12 Since God chose you to be the holy people whom he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 You must make allowance for each other's faults and forgive the person who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 And the most important piece of clothing you must wear is love. Love is what binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are all called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

We also talked about peace. How peace isn't an absence of conflict, peace is the quietness in the midst of the conflict. When this was being discussed the picture below was shown.

Tears came to my eyes.

I have no concept of conflict. I should be at peace always.

We need to make a difference in this world. The people of Jesus Christ need to show compassion, love and unity in all we do. It is the way He lived. It is His purpose for us.

As we ring in 2010 let us be reminded of all we have. For we have the most precious gift we could ever receive.

Jesus Christ.

  1. Great reminder of who we are, or should be, to the world in which we live.

  2. Edwina,

Yeah--God has so much in store for us. I don't think we have any idea!

  3. Thanks so much for sharing, Lindi. What a beautiful message.

  4. Thanks, Missy! That picture spoke to me sooooo much.
