You CAN Make It!

Mindy here. One of my favorite little devotionals is Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. Yesterday, as life seemed explode in my face, I read the following and immediately knew I had to share it with you.

I am leading you along the high road, but there are descents as well as ascents. In the distance you see snow-covered peaks glistening in brilliant sunlight. Your longing to reach those peaks is good, but you must not take shortcuts. Your assignment is to follow Me, allowing Me to direct your path. Let the heights beckon you onward, but stay close to Me.

Learn to trust Me when things go "wrong." Disruptions to your routine highlight your dependence on Me. Trusting acceptance of trials brings blessings that far outweigh them all. Walk hand in hand with Me through this day, I have lovingly planned every inch of the way. Trust does not falter when the path becomes rocky and steep. Breathe deep draughts of My Presence, and hold tightly to My hand. Together we can make it!

No matter who you are or where you live, we can all relate. For some of us, distruption means a disgruntled toddler. For others, it's facing a life-threatening illness. Whatever the case, nothing is too big or too small for our Heavenly Father. With His help, you can make it!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

  1. Jesus is all we have, if we can't put our trust in Him then all is lost.
Even an anthies calls on God's name, they may be using it as a cuss word, but why would they say His name if they don't believe down in their hearts there is a God and He made the universe.
Praise God I am glad I am a Child of the King.

  4. Jenn, Jesus Calling is an amazing book. I love the way it's written, as though Jesus is speaking directly to me. And often times He is.

  7. Mindy, as I was cleaning out some of my piles before Christmas, I came across an email I printed that came from you. It was a quote out of this book that you sent me a year or so ago when I was worried about one of my kids. I kept it to go back to often!

    Thanks for sharing.
