Ahhh ~ Love...

Happy Valentine's Day, FAITH Followers and those of you who've crashed onto this blog by accident... Well, however you found us: Welcome & Happy Valentine's Day.

This may sound strange for a romance writer to say, but for me, Valentine's day is just another day.

I've heard/read different responses from people as this day approaches. Some revel in the day and make February a whole month of love, Love, LOVE. Others know V-Day is approaching and dread it.

LET IT BE OVER!! They say.

I feel for these folks, those who focus completely on being a part of a "couple" and aren't. The evolution of our culture and history have made this holiday one for intimate acquaintances. But Valentine's Day doesn't have to be about couples.

In other countries, South America in my research, February 14th is known as the Day of Love and Friendship. The Day of Affection.

But the question of the day is: Who taught us about love?

Not everyone in the world will agree with me, but the answer is: God.

God is Love.

He created us in His image. He wants to walk with us. He wants to have a relationship with us.

God is Love.

Say it again, God is Love.

You don't need a girlfriend or boyfriend to feel the love. Nope. All you need is to remember who the true creator is. The creator of you and me and the sole creator of love.

He loves us, even when we don't love ourselves. When we aren't happy in our own flesh, our Lord remains supreme. He loves us more than we can ever imagine.

So I ask you to think a little deeper on this subject of "love."

And, if you came across this blog feeling down about what day it is... Don't be. Remember this is just another day... A day the Lord created for you. He gave you this day because He loves you. Celebrate the true creator on Valentine's Day. Love one another. Love who He made you to be.

God is love.

  1. Christi -

Great post! We should celebrate God's love today and every day!!

  2. You're right, Edwina, we should celebrate His love every day. I hope we all do in some way or another.

  3. Well said, Christy! I agree 100%. God should be our example in loving others as well as ourselves.
