ACFW Board Plans September Conference

Angie here:

I spent 4 days in Indianapolis as a part of the American Christian Fiction Writers operating board planning for the ACFW annual conference. While there, we had the honor of watching the couple next to our dinner table in the Eagle's Nest Restaurant become engaged! Meet Drew and Kim :-) Little did they know we were Christian fiction authors-heavy on the romance, lol!

With Tim Downs as our keynote speaker and James Scott Bell as our early bird teacher, the conference is already going to be wonderful.

But let me tell you about a few other things. The 35+ workshops and continuing ed classes are spectacular. They're planned for every level of skill and I am dying to take each one! Thank goodness we will be able to buy conference C.D's.

The location is not only wonderful with tons of restaurants only steps from the hotel, but there's indoor walkway ramps to a mall full of shops and restaurants too. Here's the view from one of those walkways overlooking downtown.

My biggest struggle was finding the workout room, excuse me, excellent workout facility! The door to the hallway is right at the elevators and I blindly walked by it because just inside is a guest computer area. My workouts were so enjoyable on the elliptical since I had my very own fresh headset to plug into my very own television built into the machine. Not just my machine, EVERY machine! I had a hard time deciding whether to listen to music, watch tv, or people watch out the huge glass windows to beautiful downtown Indianapolis.

Michael Ehret, ACFW's editor for the Afictionado E-zine, came for a breakfast meeting. We sure do have the right guy for the job in Mike! Be sure to read the Afictionado!

Oh yes, I will be posting more. But I just had to share a few tiny tidbits now :-)
