Revealing Your Passion

Belinda here.

Right now my hubby and I have the privilege and honor of attending two churches. Sunday a.m. we attendThe Quest Church. Sunday evenings we attend Passion City Church.

Both churches are church plants. Both churches have a passion for the Lord like I've never seen.

Both churches have amazing pastors.

And you know what makes them so amazing? The energy and desire they have for the Word of God. They are both teaching pastors. We always have paper ready to take notes or we're scribbling in the margins of our Bibles. They both teach-preach about 40 mintues and I'm glued to every word. There's no drifting off during this time. And I've finally figured out the reason.

John and Louie (yes, we'll name them now) both think the Word is exciting and that's how they present it. When people are excited about something, it's contagious and the people around them get excited also.

Agree?

So what are we passionate about? God? Writing? Reading? There are so many things going on in each of our lives, but what are we excited about? Does your love of the things you love ring out each day?

I think that why writers like to be around other writers. We get excited about our story, or a new idea or a break through in a plot line--and other writers understand and can be really excited right along with you.

What about God? Do we find our excitement waning if we are around people that don't know the Lord?

There are no right or wrong answers here. Just observations and curiosity about how others reveal their passions to the world.

  1. Lindy,

    Great Post!!

I hope I reveal my passion for life and living through my attitude and my joy. I try (not always successfully) to present myself as a positive person and pray that God's light will shine through me.

Hope to get to Passion City Church one Sunday night - love Louie!

  2. Edwina, you always seem very positive to me! So you're raditating it. :)

Lindi, I'm passionate about writing. And about being an encourager (hoping to show God's love and grace). And right now, I'm very passionate about Beth Moore's Esther Bible study! (It's amazing!) :)

  4. Edwina,

That's the thing--to have God's light shining through us. And that certainly will reflect out to others.

don't you love it when there's something extra exciting going on--like a Beth Moore study. She's got an amazing gift and i'm glad she shares it with the world.
