Spring Break

Mindy here, hanging at the ranch with three of my kids and all four of the grands. No telling what mayhem will transpire. Or what the kids will do either:-)

Needless to say, this week is a break from the norm. But change is good. It reenergizes us. Awakens us to the joy of life and all that it has to offer.

This week, there will be lots of laughter, chaos, and good cooking. Fishing, roaming the range on the Polaris, and cards.

As I type, lightning flashes in the distance. I hear the slightest rumbles of thunder. All that's missing is the sound of rain on the tin roof. Perfect sleeping weather.

We all need time to rejuvenate and reconnect with family. What's your favorite family activity? How does it reawaken your creative side?

Happy Tuesday, everyone. And happy spring.

  1. Last time we had a big family birthday party we just tossed a bunch of paper and colored pencils on the table and people just started drawing.

It was cool. People who aren't even normally "artistic" started drawing. It was a great way to keep everyone engaged in conversation too- and all ages, from grandparents, teens, to little kids.

  2. What a fun idea, Amanda! We'll have to try that sometime.

We usually like to watch a movie together. And it can get kind of wild trying to pick one that makes everyone happy! :)

We also like to go fishing. But I have to admit that in recent years, while hubby and kids go fishing, I tend to stay behind to write while it's quiet! :)

  3. I don't blame you. Quiet times are few and dear. :)

  4. I hope you had a great spring break, Mindy!

Lately, our daughter's favorite place to go is the mall. She loves to ride the train, the carousel and get dippin dots ice cream.

We haven't taken a big family vacation yet, although I'm looking forward to that soon.

I like Amanda's idea too. Since my daughter is 5, her table is littered with all sorts of paper and pens, crayons and markers. She loves to draw! We're turning into an artistic family, LOL!

  5. What a great idea, Amanda. I'll have to remember that. Especially when we're at the camphouse.
We all had a great week. The boys got in lots of fishing. If only the fish had cooperated :-) And we couldn't have asked for better weather. But what a rude ending when we came home to snowfall!
