Would You Move Over, Please?

Belinda here: And yes, in the title somebody is talking to me.

Move over!

It's God. Yep. Sure enough is.

Do you ever get the feeling you're standing in your own way? Standing and being stubborn and trying to plan and replan and do and redo and when all is said and done you're no further along than you were when you stood in the spot to plan and do. It's crazy! But true.

We've talked before on this blog about listening for God. Being still to hear what He would have for us. And I'm there. I'm being like Christy today--I'm putting it out there for all to see and hear.

I need to be still. Listen for Him. Pray. And get out of my own way. I've never been leader material, so I don't know what I think I'm doing trying to lead myself all over creation.

Starting now the word "me" will exit my vocabulary. (Well, not totally, but certainly in certain circumstances--ha--say that fast three times!)

It's all about Him---His glory---His creation---His energy---His timing---His words--

And all praise goes to Him!

Have you ever felt like you've been in your own way? Please share!!

  1. I get in my own way often so I know how you feel, Lindi. Anytime I try to step in and make decisions without consulting God. You'd think I'd learn because everytime the results of this are never good, but each time....there I go again.

  2. Dianna--maybe we should start a Googl Group--Getoutoftheway!
    Thanks for sharing.

  3. I think I live in my way all the time.

  4. Reminds me of the marquee I saw at a church this weekend:

    Lord, I have a problem.

    It's me.

Oh, yeah, I so often resemble that remark!

  5. Lindi-

Don't know about the Google group. We're not keeping up with the one we have. LOL!

  6. Great post and great reminder, Lindi!

  7. Lindi, you are a wonderful leader!

  8. Dianna, You have a point. We would have to just change the one we have...letsgetthisstoryoutoftheway...?

  9. Cynthia---The marquee and I--we think alike!

  10. Thanks Missy and Christy---I'm a work in process--like like my wip!

  11. Absolutely. I go through stages where I rein myself in and then I inch back out again. It's like a rubberband cycle.
