  2. Hi Angie:

    Congratulations on your contract!
The book sounds fascinating. Any idea of publication date?

I’m with you on helping organizations like Sanctuary of Hope Homes in Kenya. I support The Amazon Project (http://www.amazonmedical.org/) with Dr. Linnea Smith who wrote La Doctora. She is a living, current day, Albert Schweitze. (I actually outlined a complete romance based on her life and work but I am afraid to show it to her!)

BTW: I’ve read that it is almost impossible to publish Christian nonfiction without a platform. Did you build a platform from your speaking? I think this would make a very interesting blog post.

  3. Jenn, thank you! Snoopy really expresses me here! I love his joyful abandon.

    Hi Vince,
Man, you should ask her permission to send it. That's not only a beautiful story idea, it's so honoring of her life. If you tell her that, she would be honored. I sure would! And the work and love for Christ will reach so many more hearts through fiction. You could even have a forward or a 2-3 page mission information as a note from the author telling people about the mission and why you support it with how they can too! The company to share it with is New Hope. They have a new line called Christian Missional fiction. The lead off author is Kathi Macias and her books are awesome. Please follow up on that. Your story sounds great!

On the platform. Yes, I've been building my speaking platform for about 6 years. I started with Toastmasters. But my book, Gems of Wisdom, is based on 3 things. Life's difficulties and the gems of wisdom we learn from them, Biblical wisdom, and analogies of true historical pirates that embody negative beliefs, behaviors, and attitudes. I'm a trained Stephen minister, an assistant minister (which means I lead worship and prayer), and to build more public speaking opportunity I competed for and won Mrs. Montana International. I think we all have to find ways to build a platform that fits our personality. We each have different connections. But speaking for me started in local groups.

  6. Thanks, Lindi :-)
Christy and Jenn, I appreciate the additional celebrating. I got to share with a couple of people yesterday. It was pure fun! I remember when Jenn's contract was signed and how far out the date seemed. It sometimes feels like that to me. Then I remember how FAST it came up! So I'm Snoopy dancing because there's a lot of work coming ver fast :-)
Thank you again, everyone, for such a joyful celebration!
