2011--Right Around the Corner-Part 2

Mindy here and, as Lindi pointed out yesterday, 2011 is rapidly closing in. It's like an unwrapped gift still sitting beneath the tree. No telling what it might hold. Some good. Some not-so-good. But all pre-ordained.

We look at the coming year with great expectation. Twelve whole months stretch before us. A journey waiting to unfold. We plan our route and the stops we'd like to make along the way. Yet, as I look back on 2010, I see how even the best laid plans can go awry.

Proverbs 19:21 says, "Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails."

No matter what we have planned, one thing is for sure...not everything will go according to plan. However, for those in Christ, Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Whatever 2011 ushers into our lives, we can rest in knowing that God has the ultimate plan. We may not understand the potholes, twists, and turns along the way, but our Heavenly Navigator will never let us down.
Happy New Year, y'all.

  1. I like the way you reviewed your goals. I hadn't thought of it that way before.

  2. I like you pointed out that our plans may not be His plans. That's a tough one!

  3. Great post, Mindy. I love that verse in Jeremiah. I used it as my theme verse for one of my books.
