Change is Constant

"To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." (Ecc 3:1 NKJV)

thus,

"The only thing constant in life is change." (Fran├žois de la Rochefoucauld)

When I was younger the idea of change signaled instability, because it brought the unknown, which incited fear. Now, I have enough experience to know that change happened in my life for the good even if it didn't seem like it at the time. I don't fear change as much as I used to. If God had enabled me to stay the same, I still might be in the same place, fearing change.

Right now I'm being flooded with change in my life, transitioning to a new season. It feels good. We are so obsessed with trying to control our lives and how change takes place in it that we forget to let God be in control of our destiny and the changes He chooses to bring us through for His purpose.

We think we know what is best for us. We think we know so much. But it is what we don't know that frightens us the most.

Let go. Stop fighting the changes in your life. Let them take place naturally. Allow God to be in control of your destiny--not only will He lead you to the next level--but He'll take you all the way to eternity. We think of eternity as a time and place that begins when we die. No, it begins right here, right now, with YOU.

  1. Hi Jennifer:

Ever since I first heard it, I have found comfort in the French saying:

“The more things change, the more they stay the same.”

  5. Jenn, A few weeks ago I kept thinking "this is life changing" after I'd leave church or pray. Then I felt God told me "it's because your life needs changing."
    Thanks for the post.

  7. Great post, Jenn.

I'm glad to know God is always changing me. But it sure is difficult sometimes. And scary. Especially since I'm kind of a control freak. :)

  8. I like to think that change is good. Not always enjoyable, but still good.
