Making Progress

On my blog I am currently having an accountability challenge. As you all may know, I've done this in the past. About two times last year, to be specific. I learned when I posted my progress on my manuscript, both good progress and not so good progress, it helped me reach my goal. It also helps when my friends and fellow writers stop by to tell me how they're doing.

Right now, I'm working on a story where I need to really nail down where these characters have been to know how they will react when I dump them in the middle of the mess I've created for them. I'm working on character charts and writing character synopses. I'm following the Snowflake method and bringing in some other tools to help me figure everything out. Despite many challenges this week, I've surprised myself that I've made any progress at all. It simply proves to me that if I want something bad enough, I can achieve it. I will find a way to make it happen.

I plan to apply these same principles to house work.... some day.

Since I've made it clear that the method of posting my good and bad writing days to the public helps me reach my goals, what are some things you do, to reach yours?

And feel free to stop my my blog and join in the fun!

  1. Oh, I love the idea of applying to housework--SOMEDAY!! LOL

I'm glad you're doing the challenge. I'm enjoying it! It helps to know someone will hear whether or not I got my words in for the day. :)

  2. Christy,
sounds like things are coming along. I'm glad you are doing the challenge. It is really helpful.

  3. I'm glad you two are participating. Missy, you're doing great on your daily check in!

  4. I'm making progress- slow but sure. I'll see you over At Split Ends.
