Starbucks and Other Addictions

Missy, here. I love my coffee. I especially love Starbucks--skinny hazelnut lattes and caramel macchiatos. With extra caramel, of course. :) And I was thrilled to receive an email today telling my they're now doing e-gift certificates! It'll be so easy to send someone a gift card. And to give them as blog prizes!

I'm also a huge fan of my Keurig coffee maker. Here's my little coffee corner in my kitchen...

Notice the bag of Starbucks coffee in the background. BUT Starbucks doesn't make K-cups for Keurig. I do have a little cup I can put my own beans into, but it's not the same. It took me a while to find a K-cup that was strong enough for me, but I miss my favorite beans. I'm holding out hope Keurig will contract with Starbucks. So if any of you have any connections to either, I'd sure appreciate a nudge in that direction! :)

The reason for my post today?? To share one of those new Starbucks e-gift cards! Share your favorite coffee (or tea or hot cocoa) to be entered in a drawing for a $10 gift card. And if you don't have a Starbucks location near you, let me know and I'll do an Amazon or B&N gift card instead.

  1. I love the Keurig too! My favorite K-cup is Kona so far. I also like the Caribou. I'm still having fun trying them all out. I have yet to find anyone off-line (retail) that sells a variety pack. Those are fun.

My favorite Starbucks is a Venti Americano. I can't do without one -- at least every 3 days!

I'm glad I found your site. Talking about Jesus & coffee is a great way to spend a life. I'll be back. Visit us at: www.stickyJesus.com. God bless you Faith Girls!

  2. Missy,
I bought some of the small packages of flavored coffee - that's my occasional "treat." I made a pot of coffee earlier this week - Chocolate Velvet. It was, by far, the best coffee I've had.

  3. Edwina--Chocolate Velvet coffee? Where did you get that?

And Missy knows I love Starbucks. I love my coffee! Everyday. I drink Starbucks at home. I don't buy it out too often anymore because they've raised the prices so much.
I drink Cafe Verona at home. Love it!

And again, Edwina share your Chocolate Velvet coffee secret.

  4. Toni, welcome! I'm so glad you found us! I'll be sure to check out your blog.

My favorite K-cups so far are the Green Mountain Espresso, Double Black Diamond and Eclipse. I'm also trying Parisian Nights. I did a sample pack of that one and liked it enough to order a box. They're all extra bold. I like it strong enough to hold up to all my flavored creamer! :)

As for Starbucks beans, I love a mix of Sumatra and another of the extra bold.

  6. Yes, Lindi does love it as well! We had the best coffee in our room at the RWA conference in Orlando last year. I can't remember which beans they were, though. Was it the Cafe Verona?

  7. Missy, I'm with you on the caramel macchiatos. Anything caramel is wonderful in my world. :-) My most favorite coffee is any consumed with girlfriends along with good conversation and laughter.

  9. Joann, that's the best part, isn't it! Love to have coffee with friends.

When Lindi and I are rooming together at conferences, we share a pot in the morning. Fun times!

  10. Dee, I love them in winter, too. But I also love them iced when it gets hot outside. They drizzle caramel all around inside the cup, so you start out with that strong coffee taste, but it gets sweeter and sweeter as you drink and stir.

Oh, my. I'm having a sudden craving! LOL

  12. After reading the post and all of your comments, I am not as into coffee as the rest of you. :) Here we have a war between Starbucks and Tim Hortons. Our city has a Tim Hortons on every corner (I'm not kidding). You may not know what a 'double double' is, but here it is a staple.

I did have a fun time touring a coffee plantation in the Dominican once and learned all about the best beans and which countries get them. Anyone have coffee in the UK? They supposedly get the best grade A beans. But, that could have changed.

As for me I love chocolate milk. Always have and probably always will. :) I can get the kind with extra vitamins and drink it with organic skim milk. Perfect for me. :)

    Have a great weekend everyone!

  14. The Keurig looks greats, Toni! Some of my friends have one and it's nice to make a personal cup for each person! :)

  15. Chris, I haven't tried that yet. Will have to do it soon!

  16. Eva Maria, I love chocolate milk, too! Once I start drinking a glass, I end up guzzling it. :)

  17. Dee, you must have a Starbucks nearby! :) I wish I did. The nearest one is about 20 minutes from my house.

  18. I've drawn a winner for the $10 gift certificate! Toni, you're our winner. Congrats! Please email me at missytippens [at] aol.com or through my website to let me know your choice of certificates--Starbucks or a book site like Amazon. :)

Also, I discovered a 5-pack of K-cups from Keurig is about the same price (including shipping) if you'd rather me order that for you. :)
