Your Birth Verse

Missy, here. Someone recently forwarded me a site where you look up your birth verse. They use your month and day to correlate your birth with a verse in the Bible. It's all just for fun.

For example... Mine is January 21. So I looked it up. This is what they gave me:

Philippians 1:21 NIV
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Okay, I have to admit, that was a bit frightening for me. :) I had hoped for one of my favorite verses like...

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (NKJV)

or

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (NIV)

Here's the link so you can try it yourself and then share it with us. Click here. Or if you'd rather, just share one of your favorite verses.

  1. Ephesians 1:4 NIV
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight…

Love this. It reminds me that much is given, so much is expected.

We can't take His love for granted-we must share Him with the rest of the world.

    Thanks, Missy!!

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household,

  4. Hi Missy:

    My quote was:

    Romans 6:14 NIV

For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

I’m a 'good works' Christian and not a ‘by grace alone’ Christian. I wonder if this is a message?

  5. Hi Missy. This is neat.

    I got this verse:

    Romans 7:22 NIV
    For in my inner being I delight in God's law;

    Sure. That makes sense. :)

    Enjoy Valentine's Weekend Everyone!

  6. Interesting thought, Vince! Maybe so. :)

BTW, go to Biblegateway.com and do a search for "faith and works". Some good verses come up in Romans and Galatians that might give you some more insight.

James chapt. 2 is also a good one about faith and works going hand in hand, which may be where you're coming from.

  8. This was so much fun! My verse is

    2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV
And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Thank you for sharing this with us!

    Blessings,
    Penny

  9. My birth verse for September 18th...

    Acts 9:18 NIV
Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized,

Strangely enough, my eye care is being transferred to Stanford hospital,

  12. Galatians 6:9 NIV
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Actually, this was really encouraging. If I keep writing and doing the work of my speaking, then this verse promises a harvest. I'm liking it :-)
