Angie here: Suddenly the day of my new release is right around the corner. Who knows how it will go? I don't know where I'm going. Sure, I have a plan. But so did Abraham. He was already living in it. Or was he? God called him out. He didn't tell him where he was going. In fact, in chapter 11 of Hebrews, none of the famous biblical characters knew where God was leading them. But they followed anyway. Sometimes I think the road is straight like this one on the way to Great Falls, MT.

Then I realize I don't know what's over the hill up ahead. I have to make a choice to go up, over, and see. I have to follow the path to discover what God has for me as my inheritance. (Realize inheritance doesn't necessarily stand for money either.) It's felt like a long road too at times. You know what I mean? Has yours?

No, I don't know what's over the hill ahead. I'm going forward in obedience anyway.

By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went out to a place he was going to receive as an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he was going. Hebrews 11:8 HCSB

So did Abraham. But he did it anyway.

Will you?

  1. I will try, but it may be hard :)

  2. Good luck with your upcoming release Angie! Can't wait to watch you shine!

Your post reminded me of a theory about careers and jobs that is also relevant to everything in our lives: you cannot know your career until it is nearly finished, because only then can you look back at all the decisions you've made and jobs you've taken to see how they relate and got you to where you are today.

So interesting how every step we take, whether large or small, leads us to the spot we eventually find ourselves in.

Hope everyone has a nice day! :)

  3. As an older person, what you dream sometimes goes by the wayside, but with faith other better opportunities happen and life brings you joy if you look towards the one upstairs.

  4. You all gave such interesting perspectives! Yes, let's keep going toward the call of Christ. In the end, I think we'll always be surprised looking back at what we actually achieved versus what we thought we were going to do.

  5. Angie, it's fun and scary to move ahead on the publishing road, on the road to our calling. But it's also exciting!

Eva Maria, what an interesting perspective! Thanks for sharing.

RBooth, sometimes God has bigger plans than we can even imagine!
