The Candy Has Left the Building

Mindy here. I trust you had a blessed Easter, celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We enjoyed an uneventful day of fun and family.

Now that we've moved past Easter, the commercialized holiday, we start looking toward summer. Something that's much easier to do with all of the candy holidays behind us. Did you ever stop to think about that? Easter is the last of the candy holidays. It starts with Halloween, spreads through Christmas, then Valentine's, and, finally, wraps up at Easter. It's like two whole seasons of treats.

Of course each holiday seems to have some confectionery treat that it just isn't complete without. Halloween brings to mind caramel apples and candy corn. Christmas has people scooping up boxes of cherry cordials/chocolate covered cherries and ribbon candy, while others make their own divinity and fudge. And what valentine doesn't like to receive a heart-shaped box of chocolates, even if she/he is watching their weight. Finally, there's Easter with Peeps, Cadbury cream eggs, and malted milk eggs.

Yes, nearly seven months of a sweet-tooth lovers delight. But before we put it all to rest, what are some of your faves? Nothing says fall to me like a caramel apple. A box of Turtles always seems to show up at our house around Christmas. Dark chocolate truffles are my fave at Valentines, and I still love those Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs around Easter.

Your turn now. What are some of your favorite candy's throughout the candy season? Is there one that is an absolute must-have?

Happy Tuesday, y'all. And don't forget to drop by my personal blog, Divine Imagination. This week's author interview is with none other than our own Missy Tippens. Find out what her family thinks about her writing and enter to win a copy of her latest release, A Family for Faith.

  2. Edwina, peanut butter anything rates high in my book. And cyber candy is the best kind. Totally fat free.
