  2. Thank you! I'm a little stressed over the size of the font on my bio. Tried to fix it, but looks like it's huge. Weird.

I'm really happy today too, because my shipment of books made it in time for the book launch party! The delivery driver brought them this morning. Yay!

  4. I'm so glad, Missy :-) Every author's fear is that you battle to get the book written and no one wants to read it :-)
    Thanks,

  5. Hi Angie:

I can’t wait to read your book. I just ordered an autographed copy. I may still get the Kindle version if there will be one.

    I’m really into Wisdom.

I also like your dancing Snoopy. (Did you mention on your site that you take PayPal? I didn’t see it but was real pleased when PayPal came up as a payment choice.)

Also, I thought “Gems of Wisdom” was a short book. But over 368 pages! That’s a lot of wisdom. I better rest up!

  6. Hi Vince,

I am so honored! I just love reading your comments here and have popped over to read your blog :-) There will be a Kindle version, but I have no idea when. My publisher is holding off. Maybe this fall?

I appreciate the suggestion about mentioning paypal. I never thought of that! I'll try to update my site this weekend before I leave for Colorado Christian Writers Conference and the KRKS 94.7 FM radio interview in Denver. (Can you tell I'm excited???)

But what perfect timing! I just finished packaging up well over a dozen books to send, but haven't left yet for the post office. So I'll be able to send yours today!

Don't be daunted by 368 page count, lol, there's a lot of white space with little doodads to make the reading experience really fun. It's also a little bigger print, but not large print. The icons help you to follow the unique format of the book. And besides, I think I have some wisdom to learn from you too :-)

    Very appreciative,
    Angie

  7. Angie,

I'm so excited about your book release. As a history lover, the cover reminds me of pirate's treasure. I love it! And from what I've seen, I know this book is great!

  8. Hi Angie:

    Coincidence Alert!

Your book came in the mail this morning just as I was on my way to my first WIN meeting. (That’s the local ACFW chapter.) I think the book arrived in just one day.

I brought, “Gems of Wisdom” to the meeting just in case there was a ‘show and tell.’ The lady sitting next to me saw the book and was quite surprised. She asked how I got the book so quickly? I said that I knew the author. So she said, ‘And I wrote the forward.’

How that’s for a coincidence? Of all the writers in Oklahoma, I sit next to Margaret Daley. How about that?

It’s a beautiful book. Great layout and art work. I have high hopes. : )

  9. Oh my gosh!! I can't believe it either. I already mailed Margaret's (and the same day as yours!) but how odd that yours arrived so fast!

Margaret is such a dear friend and one of my Christian writing heroes. What a treasure she is! Thank you for sharing that really fun story. Now I'm wondering if hers has arrived!

    So appreciative,
    Angie

  11. Hi Angie:

The book came to my business address and I think business gets top priority. Margaret wanted to know if some of your covers use the green type. She likes the color you chose for my book.

BTW: She wrote a wonderful forward.

  12. HI Vince,
I so agree wit you that Margaret's forward is amazing. I am so honored.

No, the green cover was for the companion guide. My publisher looked at what was happening in the market and chose to include the companion guide in the back of the Gems of Wisdom: For a Treasure-filled Life book itself. So the green cover, though really pretty too, is no longer in use. We're hoping the combination will be really helpful cost-wise to readers instead of having to buy 2 books.

    Thanks :-)

  13. Hi Missy:

I walked into the meeting room about 15 minutes early and there were about 75 women and no men! One lady walked up and welcomed me. I asked if they were the writers and she said, “no, this is a women’s retreat. The writers are upstairs but you’re welcome to come back if you don’t like it up there”.

All I could think of was: ‘what if my wife discovered that I lied about going to a ACFW meeting and instead snuck off to a really attend a women’s retreat?”

Sometimes I think I should have been a character in Jan Karon’s Mitford series.

Wonderful meeting and the class room had large windows on three sides. To be a full time teacher in that room would be heavenly. : )

  14. Hi Angie:

    Good news!

I took “Gems of Wisdom” to bed to read and my wife saw the treasure chest and wanted to see the book.

Soon she was reading me quotes form the book. “This is good Christian stuff” she said.

    Bottom line:

She’s going to read the book first. She thinks it too cute with all your little graphics. Pique Points! I think women are going to be fascinated by your presentation in this book.
