Celebrating a First Novel Sale!!

Missy, here. I'm so excited to share some exciting news. Angie Breidenbach has sold her first novel!! Tentatively titled The Memory Quilt, it was bought by Abingdon Press to be part of their new, upcoming Quilts of Love series. Woo hoo!! Angie, we're so proud of you!!

And what's really cool is that Jennifer Hudson Taylor sold a Quaker historical set in the 1850's American South for the same series! Congrats to you as well, Jenn!

So two F.A.I.T.H. girls will be part of the series, one with a contemporary, one with an historical. Both will release in 2013. I guess we have a lot to celebrate and be thankful for today!

Here are blurbs of each book:

Angie's:
Mara Corazon is an uber-successful mother of three, widowed three years ago. One year for every child. As she's making a photo memory quilt, a graduation present for her daughter, Mara experiences a heart attack. As Mara recuperates and learns how to heal her damaged heart, she also discovers how to release a bitter heart to God so she can love again. She's been chasing success and all the "good things in life" for her family to make up for the cruel whim God played on them by taking her husband. When released home, Mara visits the choices she's made that led her to this physically and spiritually broken heart. The memory quilt must be finished in time for Corinn's big day, but Mara struggles with her burgeoning feelings for the man who must keep Mara's business going during her recovery, Joel Asher. Can Joel find his way into Mara's heart and onto Corinn's quilt?
Jenn's:
When Quakers Flora Saferight and Bruce Millikan embark on the Underground Railroad, they agree to put their differences aside to save the lives of a pregnant slave couple. With only her mother’s quilt as a secret guide, they follow her stitches through unknown treachery on a path of promise where love sustains them, courage builds faith, and forgiveness leads to freedom.

  3. Do you remember the funny lady who won 2nd (or 3rd) place in the singing festival in Sound of Music? She kept saying thank you, bowing, and grinning. I feel like her, so stunned to have a place on stage and so appreciative! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
