#AtoZChallenge - L - Leia

Christy here... The letter "L" gives us a lot of words. The most obvious is the word "Love." I think we've already established on this blog that we love, love. We love stories of love and happy endings. God is Love. Today, I'm remembering one of the first heroine's that had a lasting impression on me for her guts and strength plus her beauty was Princess Leia from Star Wars.

You may be grinning. No, my choice is no one for literary study. No characters from Jane Austin's books for me, not this early in the morning... Star Wars was really popular in the late 70s early 80s. Of course it had another revival with the true, first three stories, which didn't have the draw for me like chapters 4, 5, and 6 did in Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Princess Leia was in charge of her people and she had a clear goal in mind. She caught Han Solo's attention right away and I loved the romance between the two of them.

Have I missed any heroine's that have names with the letter "L" ?   Do share ;)

  2. We all wanted to be Leia when we were growing up and I finally did it when I was about twenty-years-old. One awesome Halloween consume a friend's mother sew for me. I still grin when I remember... I wish it still fit ;( Thanks for commenting on my blog!

  3. Love! The best "L" word ever! :)

I loved the Star Wars movies! I can't think of any other L heroes/heroines because I'm terrible at remembering character names. Just ask Lindi! I'm always having to ask her my own characters' names! LOL

  4. One of my favorite heroine's is the misunderstood Leota. She's from one of my favorite books, Leota's Garden, by Francine Rivers. I identified with her immediately because other people so strongly influenced the people she loved away from her. She spent her life trying to love against all odds because her children had been filled with poisonous lies. My heart hurt for her because nothing she could do could help them understand the truth. Yet she took care of them, fought to protect them, and did what she had to do anyway. I went through a lot of tissues on that book :) I think Leota embodies many mothers in our world.

  5. Hi Gina & Ophelia! Thanks for stopping by. I know the halloween costume you're talking about. Never dressed up, though considered it!

Missy, LOL - that is sad, girl!

Angie, I've heard of this book but never read it! Sounds like a good one. You know, Mrs. Rivers books tend to make me cry ;)

  7. Really neat post! Thank you. I enjoyed the Star Wars 1, and I think that is the only one I saw. I didn't catch the "Star Wars Fever". Best wishes to you. Ruby

  8. Hi Ruby! Best Wishes to you too! Yep, for some, Star Wars, Star Trek and all of the other Sci-Fi is not an interest. That's okay, there's plenty of stories and movies to go around and find home with someone!
