The Joy of Watching Them Grow

Mindy here. Our youngest daughter graduated from college this weekend. I can't tell you how proud I was to watch my baby girl cross that stage, knowing she was going to be one the best elementary school teachers that ever lived.

All three of our daughters are now adults, two of them moms. As a young mom trying to keep up with hair ribbons and Barbie dolls, I never would have imagined the amazing women they'd grow to be. The loving, nurturing spirit they would share.

What a joy it has been to watch them grow, blossom, and bloom. One I never could have imagined when I first held that squirming pink bundle.

Of course, I also have two boys who make me just as proud. The oldest recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. And I have to say, for a Bear Grylis-esque, Steve-Irwin-wannabe, he cleans up pretty well.

If you're a young mom, savor these years with your children. They pass quicker than you can imagine. Soon, those sleepless nights will be a thing of the past.

Revel in each stage as they grow. There will be challenges along the way, but joy comes in the morning.

To Amy, Rachel, Danielle, Ryan, and Michael, thank you for the journey. I can't wait to see what the next thirty years will hold.

Happy Tuesday, y'all.

  2. And actually, if your son was blond, he'd probably be your clone as well! :)

    Great photo! Is that prom?

  3. Thank you, Missy. His prom isn't until next year. This was band banquet, which is always formal. Didn't I do a good job on getting his shirt to match that dress. Oy!
